Job Title: Machine Operator
Pay Rate:£17.15 per hour
Work Schedule: 37.5 hrs per week between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM (3-shift rotation)
Position Summary
We are currently looking for skilled and dependable Manufacturing Machine Operators to support our clients factory operations in Newton Aycliffe. This role involves operating various machinery to produce high-quality products, while meeting production targets and adhering to safety and quality standards. You’ll be an integral part of the production team, contributing to the efficient operation of the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, presses, or automated systems according to production specifications and safety protocols.
* Material Handling: Load raw materials (e.g., metal, plastic, or composite parts) into machines and unload finished components for further processing or packaging.
* Production Monitoring: Follow production schedules, blueprints, or verbal instructions to ensure efficient machine operation and timely order completion.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of in-process and finished parts using measuring tools to ensure products meet quality standards. Report defects and assist in corrective actions.
* Troubleshooting & Maintenance Support: Detect minor faults or malfunctions, perform basic adjustments, and elevate more complex issues to maintenance or supervisory staff.
* Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, shift leaders, and supervisors to meet daily production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Record Keeping: Perform basic data entry to track production counts, downtime, or material usage in the manufacturing system.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally operating industrial machinery
* Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, or work orders
* Familiarity with quality control tools and inspection methods
* Basic computer proficiency for data input and equipment interface use
* Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
* Ability to work independently with moderate supervision in a fast-paced environment
* Physically fit and able to lift, move, and position materials and products as needed
