Job Role
Support the development and management of the Aran Operations Team, overseeing Planning, Survey and Installation Teams to meet service standards, delivery targets, and KPIs. Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure project continuity from conception to completion, driving performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and develop the activity of the team to ensure that high service standards, targets and compliance requirements are consistently achieved.
* Conduct annual appraisals and support performance management of direct reports.
* Develop and refine KPIs, reporting tools, and IT systems to meet company and client expectations.
* Plan and allocate resources effectively, including staffing, contingency, and succession planning.
* Produce strategic action plans to meet operational targets and business growth.
* Attend and lead departmental and client meetings, representing operations at a senior level.
* Oversee complaint handling for field operations in line with policy and resolution KPIs.
* Support HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, and policy communication.
* Ensure operational compliance with internal policies and external regulations, especially HSEQ.
* Review and approve operational invoices and claims, following procurement policies.
* Promote high morale and consistent communication across the team.
* Maintain, review, and enforce operational policies, method statements, and safety measures.
* Travel and flexibility required, including occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays for training or meetings.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience in Operations Management, ideally within the energy efficiency sector with grant funding exposure
* Proven people leadership with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop teams
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills with internal teams, subcontractors and delivery partners
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professionalism and diplomacy
* Process driven project management abilities with a strategic, analytical, and proactive mindset
* High attention to detail, able to prioritise tasks effectively and adapt to changing demands
* Target-driven and results focused, with a flexible and confident approach to leadership
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in Business Management, Operations Management or a related field
* NVQ Level 4/5 in Management or Leadership
* Prince2 or Agile Project Management
* Certification
* LEAN Six Sigma Certification
* NEBOSH or IOSH Certification
* Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings
* Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management
The Operations Manager will be based at the Aran Insulation Ltd Head office, in Higham and will work normal office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however on occasions will be required to work outside these hours and away from the head office. Staff are required to attend occasional training courses, conferences and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight.
