Job Description – Barista Company: Crafted Reporting to: Restaurant Manager Salary: £12.21 plus Service Charge Location: Crafted at Powdermills We’re not hiring people to fill a seat or add to our headcount. We’re hiring people to craft our culture, ethos and success. Us Crafted is a series of life-friendly hotels and spaces where guests can be themselves and fill up on the good stuff: nature, food, wellbeing, craft, people and play. We hope to open several hotels in the coming years, with our first coming in summer 2025: Crafted at Powdermills, East Sussex. More specifics will follow as planning and pieces fall into place. To escape to somewhere that makes us feel totally at ease. Not so we can step away from life, but so we can come back to it. This is where Crafted comes in. Our aim is to create a network of connected destinations that people come back to again and again because it’s where they feel good about life. Somewhere to work on life, come together, and connect locally. You Crafted’s culture will be inclusive and agile but with ambitious goals and a start-up mentality. We need to execute brilliantly from day one and every team member will contribute wherever they are able. We’re looking for someone passionate about coffee, people, and community. As a Barista, you’ll deliver exceptional service while curating a menu of expertly brewed coffees, teas, and refreshing beverages, from matcha lattes to seasonal cold-pressed juices. You’ll take pride in crafting each drink and serving it with warmth and care. That said, as a Kiosk Barista, your primary responsibilities will be to: · Deliver smooth, confident service at the Kiosk, ensuring every guest feels welcomed · Prepare and serve coffee, teas, cold-pressed juices, and kombucha with precision and care · Support the team by stepping in wherever needed from restocking to keeping the workspace organised · Maintain the food display, ensuring all pastries, sandwiches and salads are fresh, neatly arranged, and ready for service · Engage with guests warmly, offering tailored recommendations based on their preferences · Keep the conservatory area tidy and welcoming, ensuring a clean, comfortable environment for guests at all times · Communicate clearly with the kitchen and wider team to keep everything flowing seamlessly We’re looking for someone with: · A passion for coffee, beverages, great service and wholesome food · A natural sense of warmth and good humour to make each guest’s experience special · Attention to detail and pride in consistently delivering quality drinks and maintaining a tidy space · The confidence to learn on the job and ask questions when needed · Availability for mornings, weekends, and busy shifts · A collaborative approach — happy to support the team wherever necessary Together We hire people with personality who have a desire to continuously learn.
