 
        
        Acute Oncology Specialist Support Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and dynamic Acute Oncology Service (AOS) within the East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust. We have a permanent full time post available in Colchester Hospital.
Responsibilities
 * Develop and consolidate existing skills in medical/oncological triage and assess acutely unwell oncology patients.
 * Coordinate and expand the role within the Acute Oncology Service across both sites within the trust.
 * Carry out over the phone assessments and inpatient rounds reviewing patients who have presented to the AOS unwell either through a complication of malignancy or side effect of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments.
 * Manage a dedicated patient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 * Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and support patient care.
Qualifications
 * Experience of triaging unwell medical and oncology/haematology patients.
 * Ability to manage a dedicated patient caseload as part of a team.
 * Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
 * Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
