Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Garment Technician, based in North Nottingham. The Garment Technician will be responsible for interpreting design briefs, creating and amending garment samples, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production process. The role includes collaborating with designers, pattern-makers, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and optimal results. Additionally, providing technical guidance for fabric and yarn selection, as well as troubleshooting production issues, is a crucial part of the role.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of garment construction and technical specifications
* Proficiency in garment sampling, pattern-making, and fabric/yarn selection
* Experience in quality assurance processes and resolving production issues
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with design and production teams
* Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail
* Knowledge of knitting techniques and luxury textiles is highly advantageous
* Experience in ethical and sustainable manufacturing practices is a plus
* Relevant certifications or academic background in textile design, fashion, or garment technology
