Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Wales & South West (field-based)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £31,500 - £37,000 DOE + benefits
Reporting to: Electrical Department Manager

The Role
We're looking for a motivated, reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to carry out the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems and related life safety systems. You'll ensure all works are completed to the required standards (including BS 5839, BS 7671, manufacturer guidance and applicable codes of practice), supporting compliance and keeping client sites safe and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain, fault-find and install fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency lighting and Nursecall systems.
Ensure works are compliant with relevant standards including BS 5839-1, BS 5266 and quality procedures.
Deliver reactive callouts and planned maintenance within SLA expectations.
Commission and hand over systems safely, ensuring accurate documentation is completed.
Build strong client relationships and support them with practical compliance guidance.
Plan and prioritise your workload across your designated area.
Identify additional works where appropriate (surveys, remedials, quotes) and communicate opportunities clearly.
Record job notes, test results and findings on a digital device (training provided).
Work independently on the road with support from a collaborative head office and engineering team.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proactive, keen to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across sites.
Desirable:
Working towards or hold BS7671 / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
Confident managing your own diary and workload.
Professional, punctual, and customer-focused.
