STEM and Construction are looking for a Technician. Suitable candidates will ideally be educated to a minimum of HNC level in a related subject, although applicants with relevant industrial laboratory experience and a relevant NC or SVQ may be considered. We are looking for an adaptable and innovative individual with a passion for Welding, or general engineering disciplines such as Electrical or Mechanical. Ideally, you will have experience working in a similar technician role, or a role within industry as a Welder, Fabricator, Electrical or Mechanical engineer, or supporting roles related to these engineering disciplines.
Key duties include:
Preparing workshops for practical classes
Preparing materials and solutions, and setting up equipment for use in practical classes
Setting up and carrying out demonstrations in the workshop to students
Monitoring, restocking, and ordering consumables in the workshop
Working safely and adhering to Health and Safety protocols
Ensuring all equipment is working correctly
Retrieving and clearing away equipment and materials
Supporting the teaching staff and other technicians in the department
This role is predominantly workshop-based
