Role Purpose
Ensure the organisation secures the best value when purchasing goods and services.
Create and improve procurement policies and systems to save money and comply with regulations.
Ensure all purchasing activities follow internal policies and legal requirements.Primary Duties
Develop and oversee clear procurement policies and ensure they are properly followed.
Provide helpful and cost-effective support to staff for their purchasing needs.
Review and implement strategies to achieve better value by reducing the number of suppliers.
Manage formal tendering processes for major purchases.
Maintain oversight of key contracts and keep an up-to-date list of approved suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and suggest improvements where necessary.Requirements
Hold a Level 4 qualification in procurement and supply (such as CIPS Level 4).
Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Have strong experience working in a procurement environment, ideally within the public sector.
Be capable of identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving procurement processes.
