Head of Quality Location: London Salary: Competitive Equity Type: Full-time The Opportunity A key leadership hire within a fast-scaling, start-up environment operating in precision engineering, supplying into aerospace, defence and energy. You’ll take full ownership of quality across a growing network of sites, setting the standard for how quality is defined, implemented and maintained as the business scales. This is the independent voice of quality, with the authority to stop production and the responsibility to ensure consistency across multiple locations. The Role Own and scale a unified ISO9001 / AS9100D QMS across multiple sites Define inspection strategies (FAIRs, in-process, final) for high-precision CNC components Lead audits, certification and ongoing compliance Drive root cause and continuous improvement activity Act as the senior quality contact for aerospace and defence customers Build and structure the quality function as the business grows The Environment Start-up / scale-up environment with rapid growth plans Precision CNC machining (milling, turning, mill-turn) Aerospace, defence and energy sectors Tight tolerances (typically ±10–20 microns) Multi-site model (owned partner facilities) What We’re Looking For Experience leading AS9100 / ISO9001 systems within precision engineering Background in aerospace, defence or regulated manufacturing Proven ability to build or scale a QMS Strong understanding of process control, capability and inspection Experience leading audits and customer quality interactions Confident decision-maker, comfortable challenging production Hands-on approach across shop floor and leadership level This is a genuine build-and-scale opportunity within a high-growth start-up with strong foundations and clear customer demand.
