About the Role
Reporting to the Core Lead / Site Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the Core Management Team, overseeing a team of nine Electrical Maintenance Engineers delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a diverse estate.
You will ensure operational excellence, compliance, and safety standards are consistently achieved while driving continuous improvement across maintenance delivery.
This role exists due to internal progression and forms part of a newly expanded contract following VIVO’s successful award of a five‑year defence infrastructure partnership across US Visiting Forces establishments.
You will lead and develop a skilled team of electrical engineers delivering PPM and reactive maintenance, providing technical expertise across electrical systems, plant and equipment. You will oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contracts, KPIs and quality standards, while supporting the development of estate‑wide maintenance strategies and improvement plans.
You will ensure full compliance with statutory regulations including health and safety legislation, and take responsibility for RAMS, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work. You will act as Duty Holder, Authorised Person, Responsible Person or Competent Person where required.
You will manage CAFM systems ensuring accurate reporting, records and statutory compliance, and participate in an on‑call rota to support emergency response requirements. You will drive a strong safety‑first culture aligned to JSP 375 standards and support the mentoring and development of apprentices and team members.
You will also collaborate with military end users, DIO representatives and supply chain partners, ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery.
What you’ll need
You will be an experienced electrical professional with strong leadership capability and a proven background in maintenance or contractor management within a complex environment. You will hold an 18th Edition Electrical qualification and have a strong understanding of EICR processes and compliance requirements.
You will have knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation including COSHH and RIDDOR, along with a full UK driving licence. You will be able to obtain Security Clearance (SC), and demonstrate reliability, self‑motivation and excellent communication skills.
Experience within MOD or secure environments is desirable, as is knowledge of lightning protection and cathodic protection systems. First Aid, health and safety qualifications and membership of a professional body would also be advantageous.
