The Role
* Manage own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and person‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.
* Provide day to day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students
* Provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines
Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
In this key role, you will:
* Responsible for the Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a specialist caseload
* Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify specialist treatment interventions to meet complex individual patient needs
* Provide specialist education and advice to occupational therapy staff members, multi-disciplinary team and other agencies & education/advice to patients, carers and members of the public.
* Work within and adhere to defined National and organisational policies, procedures, standards and protocols
What You'll Bring:
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC registration
* Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days, courses, postgraduate qualification
* Leadership skills to enable day to day management of service delivery
* Excellent team working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rated basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
