Were looking for a results-driven Engineering Manager to lead our maintenance team and oversee engineering operations across our site. At Branston, potatoes are our business, delivering both fresh and prepared products to some of the UKs top retailers. This position is based at our Fresh factory, which has recently seen significant investment with the introduction of new automation and cutting-edge machinery, all part of our drive for continuous improvement.
Do you offer?
Prior leadership experience, preferably in engineering or FMCG industries.
Mechanical & electrical knowledge
Strong communication skills
Solid knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
Capability to analyse performance metrics and implement enhancements
Experience managing projects
What youll do
The food manufacturing environment is fast-paced and constantly evolving, requiring flexibility and the ability to manage a diverse workload. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Allocate and oversee duties for the maintenance team, ensuring timely and effective completion of all tasks.
Collaborate closely with the Production Team to develop and implement maintenance strategies that support operational objectives.
Manage stock and parts ordering to maintain well-equipped and sufficiently stocked stores at all times.
Build strong internal and external relationships to facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and drive efficiency improvements.
Monitor and report on performance metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and downtime, using data-driven insights to enhance processes.
Champion learning and development within the engineering department, fostering continuous improvement and skill growth.
Present and benchmark departmental activities, demonstrating the financial impact of engineering strategies to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance programme to proactively reduce breakdowns and optimise equipment reliability.
Ensure all team standards and work activities comply with site procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
