We are seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support planned and reactive maintenance activities within a critical plant environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for PPM delivery, diagnostics, fault finding, and ensuring the reliability of HVAC and associated mechanical systems.
1 month contract
This role requires a competent and self-sufficient engineer capable of working within live environments where plant uptime is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with site schedules
* Reactive maintenance and fault finding on mechanical and HVAC systems
* Diagnostic testing and rectification of plant failures
* Maintenance and servicing of air handling units (AHUs)
* Maintenance and fault finding on chillers
* Working on pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical plant
* Monitoring and maintaining critical plant systems to ensure operational continuity
* Completion of service reports and maintenance documentation
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
Plant and Systems Experience
* HVAC systems
* Air Handling Units (AHUs)
* Chillers
* Pumps and pressurisation units
* Mechanical distribution systems
* BMS interface awareness (desirable)
Requirements
* Proven background in facilities maintenance or building services engineering
* Strong mechanical bias
* Experience within critical plant environments
* Ability to fault find independently and efficiently
* Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
* F-Gas (desirable but not essential depending on scope)
* Good understanding of safe systems of work
