Join to apply for the Community Occupational Therapist role at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Community Team (ICT) working in Tewkesbury, Newent, and Staunton (TNS). The ICT comprises Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Reablement workers, with close links to Adult Social Care colleagues. This role is based in Tewkesbury, covering Tewkesbury, Newent, and Staunton areas.
Our team collaborates with GPs, community hospitals, mental health services, and voluntary organizations to enable people to live as independently as possible at home.
You will be part of a rota that covers urgent response and triage, managing a caseload of patients with diverse needs. Treatment may involve moving and handling, provision of equipment, and minor or major adaptations.
We seek a flexible Band 6 Occupational Therapist eager to work in a community setting at the forefront of development across Gloucestershire's urban and rural communities. Experience in triage, moving and handling, and long-term adaptations is essential. This role also offers opportunities to develop leadership skills, support students, and mentor junior staff.
Expressions of interest or informal inquiries should be directed to Caroline Bennett, Occupational Therapy Professional Lead, at 07974 494734 or caroline.bennett1@ghc.nhs.uk.
Applicants should demonstrate skills in clinical triage and experience in delivering urgent responses for rapid assessment, planning, and providing timely rehabilitation or compensatory strategies and aids. Our philosophy emphasizes supported self-management for positive, personalized outcomes.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist interested in developing leadership skills within a dynamic community environment.
When applying, please clearly address how your experience meets the person specification, especially regarding the values and behaviors expected of all colleagues.
