Role Summary
As a Capital Allowances Director at Unity Advisory, you will lead our capital allowances advisory service, providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to our mid-market clients. Leveraging our AI-driven, client-first approach, you will deliver innovative solutions that align with clients' business objectives, unlock the full potential of tax relief available to them, and drive value creation. This role requires a business generator and strategic thinker with extensive experience in capital allowances and a proven track record of winning work, and leading tech-forward advisory projects.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the capital allowances advisory function, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
* Provide strategic tax advice to clients on capital allowances, including identifying qualifying expenditure and maximising tax relief.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, tax authorities, and external advisors.
* Collaborate with senior leaders across legal, finance, and operations to provide integrated tax solutions.
* Mentor and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and ensure the company's capital allowances strategies are aligned with these changes.
* Drive business development and expand key client accounts, making an impact in the market and supporting the pursuit of new opportunities.
* Utilise AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of capital allowances advisory services.
Qualifications
* A professional certification (e.g., ACA, CTA) is preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital allowances advisory.
* Proven track record of winning work and leading capital allowances projects in a professional services firm or corporate environment.
* Strong knowledge of capital allowances legislation and industry best practices.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Experience with AI-driven tools and technologies is highly desirable.
