Pay Range: £160 £240 per day
Working Hours: 8:00am 4:00pm
About the Role
We re currently working with a well-respected secondary school in Basingstoke that is looking to appoint an English Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position with the real possibility of becoming a permanent post for the right candidate.
The successful teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, within a department that prides itself on collaboration, creativity, and a genuine passion for literature and language.
This is a great opportunity for a committed educator to contribute meaningfully to a school that places equal value on academic achievement and student wellbeing. The role is suitable for an experienced English Teacher or an ECT seeking a long term role in a stable English department.
What You ll Be Doing
* Teaching English to students across KS3 and KS4
* Planning and delivering lessons that spark interest and stretch learning
* Marking and assessing work in line with curriculum expectations
* Working collaboratively with the English department to share ideas and resources
* Participating in the wider life of the school from extracurricular clubs to school events

* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Recent experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
* Strong subject knowledge, with a clear passion for English language and literature
* A reflective and proactive approach to teaching
* A team player who is committed to supporting students both in and beyond the classroom
