Java Developer (Contract) – Fintech Scale-Up | Outside IR35
Location: Norwich (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Duration: 6 months
We’re supporting a fast-growing Fintech scale-up building a next-generation digital cash savings platform. Their mission is to help people and institutions make the most of their money by simplifying access to high-performing savings products.
The Role
We’re looking for a Java Developer to join their growing platform team on a 6-month Outside IR35 contract. This is a backend-focused role where you'll contribute to the architecture and build of a high-availability, API-driven SaaS platform.
You’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, helping them scale to meet growing demand from financial institutions and end-users alike.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java
* Architect and implement service-oriented and event-driven systems
* Optimise and manage PostgreSQL databases
* Contribute to light React frontend work when needed
* Build and deploy using AWS
* Uphold high standards for engineering quality, performance, and reliability
Required Experience
* Strong Java engineering experience, ideally with Micronaut or Spring Boot
* Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimisation
* Familiarity with cloud-native development, especially on AWS
* Exposure to React or willingness to support minor frontend tasks
* Background in fintech or SaaS platforms (a plus)
