I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This is a newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a solid reputation with stable clients and a track record of consistent growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position. It is remote, working from home, focusing on the UK and Western European territory. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling full-service CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets.
* Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets.
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs.
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities.
* Leading the sales process for generated and received leads.
* Managing proposal development to meet client expectations.
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
* Providing input to marketing strategies supporting business development.
* Contributing to sales targets and strategies with leadership.
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource securing.
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize sales opportunities.
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business.
