The job itself
Personal assistant required to support a lady who has asthma, diabetes and, following a stroke, the left side of her body has been affected, she uses a wheelchair and walking aids. Lady is looking for an honest and reliable carer to assist with daily life. Duties will include, support with showering and a social call twice per week. Lady enjoys activities such as going for a walk, visiting café’s, swimming etc.
We are seeking applicants who are patient and caring, someone with similar interests who enjoys going out in the community. The candidate must be able to use their own initiative whilst also ensuring that an environment for maximising independence is maintained. Must be sensitive to the needs of the lady, promoting privacy and dignity. It is crucial that the candidate can encourage enjoyable participation in positive and meaningful activities.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
