Job Description Employment Law – Senior Associate Solicitor Location: Cambridge Salary: £68,000–£90,000 Leadership & Benefits Lead High-Impact Employment Law Matters with a Top UK Firm Are you an experienced employment solicitor ready to step into a senior role with a leading, ambitious law firm? Our client is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor (5 years’ PQE) to join their Cambridge team, advising a diverse client base across financial services, tech, education, insurance, transport, and non-profits—including international businesses and senior executives. This is your opportunity to work on complex, high-value employment matters and take a visible leadership role in a firm committed to your growth. The Role: Key Responsibilities Advise on wide-ranging employment law matters including: General employment issues (maternity rights, contractual matters) Drafting service agreements, employment contracts, staff handbooks, and policies Handling performance, sickness, and misconduct procedures; parental leave schemes Transactional corporate support Wrongful and unfair dismissal, redundancy, restructuring, TUPE Senior executive arrivals/exits and complex remuneration Employment tribunal litigation and discrimination claims Advising on offshore/overseas placements Work with clients across sectors: financial services, insurance, tech, education, transport, non-profits, and international businesses Engage in business development and leadership: mentor junior team members, support firm growth, and contribute to practice development Requirements & Experience Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5 years’ PQE in employment law Proven expertise handling complex employment cases and advising senior executives Strong technical skills in contract drafting, policy development, and litigation Commercial and strategic thinking with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice Leadership and mentoring experience valued Excellent communication, client management, and business development skills Experience with international clients or cross-border matters is advantageous Benefits & Working Environment Competitive salary: £68,000–£90,000 (DOE) 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with long-service awards Private Healthcare following probation Pension Scheme (5% employer/5% employee) Staff Profit Share & Individual Performance Bonus Life Assurance (4x salary) & Permanent Health Insurance Enhanced Maternity/Paternity Leave Subsidised gym membership & electric car scheme Agile/Hybrid Working Policy & Dress for your Day Policy Supportive, inclusive, and ambitious firm culture Career Progression Clear, structured leadership and partnership pathways for high-performing senior associates Opportunities to specialise in sectors or markets of interest How to Apply Ready to lead and grow your employment law career?
