At Grandir UK, we’re on an exciting journey to transform the way we deliver technology across our growing network of nursery settings — and we’re looking for a proactive, hands-on IT Support Engineer (Field-Based) to join us.
As we shift from a fully outsourced model to a dynamic hybrid approach, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we support our teams and keep our nurseries running smoothly. With regular onsite visits across our settings, plus the flexibility to work from home and our support office, this role offers real variety and impact.
You’ll be part of a developing internal IT team, working closely with our Service Desk Team Leader and wider stakeholders to provide exceptional technical support, lead technology deployments, and contribute to key IT improvement initiatives. As a business continuing to expand through acquisition, you’ll help ensure that every new and existing nursery is equipped with secure, reliable, and user-friendly technology.
Please note: Due to the locations of our nursery settings, the successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel. All travel will be planned, organised, and kept reasonable in line with the demands of the role.
Join us and enjoy the following a host of attractive benefits including:
* Holiday 23 days plus bank holidays (3 days must be reserved for Christmas shut down).
* Generous discount on childcare.
* ‘Wellbeing Day’ – an extra day off each year, just for you, outside of your holiday allowance.
* Private Medical Insurance: Bupa or equivalent.
* 24/7 remote GP appointments.
* Healthcare cash plan - Claim cash back on medical procedures such as dental care and physiotherapy.
* Death in service policy.
* Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
* Recommend friends and family to work for us and be rewarded with a cash bonus.
* Grand Event Leave
* Employees with 2 years’ service or more are eligible for up to one week of additional paid leave to celebrate a significant life event (e.g., wedding, civil partnership, milestone birthday, or similar).
* Discretionary Sick Pay
* Employees may be eligible for up to 5 days’ discretionary sick pay after completing their probation period (subject to management approval)
What you will be doing
* Providing remote troubleshooting and support for broadband connectivity, computer issues, hardware faults, etc.
* Responding to onsite technical issues including network outages, hardware failures, and connectivity problems.
* Installing and upgrading networking equipment, computers, and connectivity services, across our nursery sites.
* Conducting site visits to assess and document IT setups, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
* Supporting proactive initiatives such as site refreshes, hardware lifecycle management, and technology rollouts.
* Collaborating with the Service Desk Team Leader to ensure seamless handoff between remote and onsite support.
* Maintaining and updating our internal documentation platform.
* Liaising with technology partners, nursery managers and staff, to ensure minimal disruption during support visits.
* Ensuring compliance with cyber security best-practices and safeguarding policies.
* Supporting onboarding of new nursery acquisitions.
