This position will suit an experienced practice professional who thrives in a hands‑on, operational role and is looking to take ownership of internal processes, team coordination, and finance functions within a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the practice, ensuring smooth operations across all service lines
* Manage workflow, resourcing, and deadlines across accounts, tax, and payroll teams
* Client accounting - management accounts and statutory accounts
* Act as a key point of contact for staff, supporting performance, development, and team coordination
* Oversee and review payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Take ownership of internal finance processes, including billing, WIP, and cashflow oversight
* Support partners with operational strategy, reporting, and process improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong background within a UK accountancy practice environment
* Good working knowledge of accounts, tax, and payroll processes
* Experience in preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax computations
* Proven experience managing workflows, teams, or operational functions
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* Confident communicator with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Comfortable working closely with partners
* Ideally ACA / ACCA / MAAT qualified or qualified by experience
