We’re Hiring: Specialist Teaching Assistant (Early Years)
The Castle Nursery School is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Early Years team. About the Role
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide specialist knowledge and expertise to support learning activities for individual children, small groups, or whole classes, under the guidance of a teacher or Room Leader.
2. Take responsibility for observing, monitoring, and recording the needs and progress of your key children.
3. Support the development and implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.
4. Plan and deliver stimulating activities that promote children’s physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development, in line with the Curiosity Approach.
5. Facilitate and enable children’s learning through high-quality interactions and appropriate support in their self-chosen play.
6. Support the health, welfare, and safety of all children, and implement safeguarding and child protection procedures.
7. Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
8. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals, providing feedback and supporting children’s progress.
We’re looking for someone who:
9. Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning / Early Years
10. Has previous experience working in Early Years and supporting children’s learning and development.
11. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of good Early Years practice and the principles of the EYFS.
12. Has excellent oral and written communication skills.
13. Is passionate about ensuring all children make the best possible progress in a stimulating and nurturing environment.
14. Values teamwork, inclusivity, and professional growth.
15. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.+
