~ We have a one-off and extremely rare opportunity to join a leading global offshore player in the role of: "Global Legal Counsel".
Our client are placing a lot of attention and investment in their operational structure from the top down and see this as a the next key role in their quest to build a world-class business unit.
The Legal Counsel will form a key pillar within the Group Commercial team. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the role will support the group and associated global entities in legal, contractual and compliance requirements. This role is fully flexible in terms of location / WFH and due to the businesses global footprint, there will plenty of opportunities to travel or even re-locate, should this person want it.
You will offer guidance and advice to management on all legal aspects of the multiple business streams to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements. This role plays a critical part in risk management, dispute resolution, and compliance within the maritime / offshore sector.
~ Provide legal guidance and support in specific geographies and to support in terms of HR, compliance, political, contractual and commercial considerations and intricacies.
Review & support legal documents
Full ownership and development of company terms & conditions to ensure alignment and provide legal support
Analyze potential business risks
Management through litigation process when required with key stakeholders, including commercial sales teams, product teams, and regulatory teams, ensuring that commercial legal matters are effectively and efficiently managed
This person should be up to date with contract law and principles in all relevant UK / EU (and any global) regions and ensure these are appropriately addressed in commercial agreements
They should show efficiencies in negotiations, manage the creation and maintenance of templates, and ensure agreements are scalable and adequately cover risks across the company
Be able to support senior management with legal support on an ad-hoc basis
Well versed in legal terminology and operations
~ Have a high level of competent understanding of corporate law and legal defence strategies
~ A track record in contract negotiation and dispute resolution
~5 years or more of external or in-house legal experience
~ Bachelors Degree in Law (Further education an advantage)
~
