Key Responsibilities

* Lead cross-discipline teams of project controls professionals to deliver effective, consistent, assured and value-adding project controls services to clients across diverse and complex programmes to support and drive delivery.
* Drive continuous improvement in project controls processes to create efficiency and deliver greater benefits to clients.
* Define and implement project controls approaches across project, programme and portfolio levels to enable effective decision making at all levels.
* Establish governance and assurance processes around project controls products.
* Collaborate with clients to develop relevant breakdown structures and support scope definitions.
* Define scaled, tailored, and integrated approaches for project controls; document these (for example in a Project Control System Definition).
* Manage scope through identification and management of exclusions, assumptions, interfaces, dependencies, and decomposition.
* Work with the Integrated Project Team to establish a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control.
* Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse performance data; ensure contract requirements are met and aligned with project controls objectives.
* Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule integration; analyse performance data to provide delivery insight and support delivery decisions.
* Train and coach clients and less experienced team members on performance and reporting management processes and practices.
* Assure the quality, accuracy and integrity of the Project Controls Team’s output.
* Undertake line management activities including career development and performance management.


Qualifications and Experience

* Experience in applying project controls disciplines (planning, cost estimation, cost management, risk management or reporting) across multiple projects.
* Practical experience in integrating project controls disciplines and assessing team maturity and ways of working.
* Experience in managing stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience using project controls software and systems (e.g., Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys).
* Desirable: a project controls-related qualification (e.g., Project Planning & Controls).


Skills and Behaviours

* Ability to work with senior management/leadership, guiding, mentoring and driving performance management within a complex environment.
* Ability to lead a team and define an integrated project controls service on complex projects/programmes with related processes and reports.
* Guide the delivery team on the use of systems and tools (Power BI, Excel) for integrated project controls, performance management, analysis and reporting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication to liaise with clients, contractors and designers.
* Ability to drive positive change and embrace challenges for client benefit.
* Effective collaboration and teamwork to deliver high-quality work.
* Committed to personal development and continuous improvement.
* Demonstrates empathy and respect to contribute to a positive workplace culture.
* UK driving license or ability to travel to client sites as required.
