Quantity Surveyor
Based: Yeovil or Bristol office; covering sites around the South West. Hybrid role - working Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am – 5:00pm.
You will work both from our office, home and on site, collaborating with your team in an inclusive and fair environment. You will be involved in the full end-to-end life cycle of a project, including subcontractor procurement and mobilisation.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
* Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
* Prepare and monitor cash‑flow forecast for designated projects.
* Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the client/representative.
* Prepare monthly valuation reports.
* Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
* Value and authorise payments to sub‑contractors.
* Liaise with contract managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
* Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and clients when necessary, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
* Monitor contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs or time‑scale.
* Assist in the control of contract budgets.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the Social Housing sector; refurbishment experience on multiple contracts is a must.
* Knowledge of JCT and Measure Term Contracts is vital.
* Full UK driving licence (travel required).
* DBS check required.
* Proficient IT and MS Office skills.
* Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
