Catering Assistant
Job Summary:-
We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team.
You will be part of a small team, working with the Catering Manager to ensure that the catering and café are run to a high standard in terms of safety, customer experience and efficiency.
A Catering Assistant at Buckmore differs from some other catering positions as we are involved in a wide range of hospitality services, from serving short orders as in breakfast, sandwiches, burgers etc to catering for 200 people attending a corporate event, helping with BBQ, Hog Roast, buffets, breakfast meetings etc.
This is a customer-focused role and the job holder is expected to interact with our customers to ensure they have a great experience at our circuit, showing diplomacy and professionalism whilst fulfilling an essential catering role is key to our success.
Duties
The Catering Assistant will work effectively with the whole of the Buckmore Park team to ensure the highest standards. The main part of the role includes:
* Cooking and presenting an array of meals and short orders
* Monitor the quality of the product and service provided
* Ensuring that the kitchen and café areas are kept clean and to an excellent standard
* Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed
Person Specification
You will need to have certain qualities to be able to maintain and continue to deliver the high standards set out and expected of an Buckmore Park employee, these include but not limited to:
* Be flexible within your working hours; Buckmore is open 5 days a week throughout the year and can operate between the hours of 7am - 9pm - your shifts will include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
* Use own initiative
* Previous catering experience preferred but not essential
* Be able to deliver excellent customer service
* Be polite and well mannered all at times - maintain a happy and jolly personality
* Be confident in communicating will all types of people in a manner of different scenarios
* Be well presented and have excellent time keeping.
* Understands our customers' needs and goes that extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction
* Ability to follow procedures and directions in an accurate, safe and timely manner
Work Environment
* We can be very busy at times
* Maintain a very high level of housekeeping and control standards at all times
* Buckmore Park is open Wednesday through to Sunday each week + Bank Holidays
Essential Criteria
* Ability to work weekends, early, late and bank holiday shifts.
* Strong communication skills
* Work in a fast paced kitchen
* Full UK driving licence - Preferred (due to location and working hours)
Contract: Zero Hour Contract - shifts will be given in advance, depending on your availability and events on circuit, holiday pay is paid according to the hours you work.
National Minimum Wage.
