The Integrated Community Equipment Loan Service (ICELS) is looking to recruit an additional Technical Instructor Band 4 to join the active recall team.
The key focus of the role will be on the active recall of equipment in the community which is past its original loan date. This work will mean visiting and contacting people by telephone to review the equipment they have on loan and, where appropriate, arrange for the equipment to be returned.
The work may also involve arranging repairs of equipment that is identified as faulty, arranging outstanding maintenance or referring a person back to the relevant service for a reassessment of their needs.
The position is full time permanent 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday. The post holder will be employed by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) on behalf of the LLR ICELS.
This post will have a key role in the delivery of the ICEL Service for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The ICELS plays a critical role in supporting health and social care services across LLR, delivering care and support to the people of LLR including hospital discharge, crisis response to avoid hospital admission, end of life and palliative care, support to keep people independent and remain in their own homes. This is a busy service supporting the wider health and social care economy across LLR. The service deals with in excess of 120,000 pieces of equipment to around 20,000 people each year. The delivery of the ICELS is contracted out to an external provider, currently this is Medequip.
The post holder will work as part of the wider ICELS Team who provide contract performance and quality assurance monitoring of the service provider, day to day operational management of the service, support for health and social care professionals and a clinical team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Lead Nurses, Triage Nurses and Technical Instructors.
The ICELS has an office at the Equipment Provider’s base in Glen Parva. The role will be office and home based with a requirement to attend the office for meetings/training events and will require visits to people’s home or care/education settings. Flexible hours may be available.

* Ensure that equipment is still appropriate for use by the person as originally assessed and recover equipment that is no longer required
* Make referrals to relevant services where it is identified that a person needs reassessment of their equipment
* Make referrals to the equipment provider where it is identified that equipment is faulty or has not been maintained in line with contractual requirements
Qualifications
* Experience of working in the community and carrying out assessment and review of equipment
* Self‑motivated and flexible
* Ability to work autonomously with an allocated caseload for recall
* Experience working from office and home, contacting people by telephone, visiting people in their own homes and in care settings
* Ability to work with health and social care staff across a range of organisations in LLR
* Conduct reviews of people’s use of equipment consistent with local policy
* Ensure that equipment is still appropriate and recover equipment that is no longer required
* Make referrals to relevant services when reassessment is needed
* Make referrals to the equipment provider when equipment is faulty or not maintained per contractual requirements
