As an Apprentice Estimator, you’ll gain real hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals, supported by a structured rotational programme designed to give you a full understanding of how our business operates.
You will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Construction Support Technician apprenticeship, combining practical experience with academic learning.
Here are some of the actitivies you will get involved in…
1. Reviewing tender documents and learning how project requirements are assessed
2. Supporting detailed quantity take-offs and pricing activities
3. Attending site visits to understand projects in real environments
4. Working with buyers and suppliers to obtain material and subcontract costs
5. Raising queries and gathering information to support accurate pricing
6. Assisting with Bills of Quantities and project schedules
7. Learning how resource costs are built up to create competitive tenders
8. Supporting risk assessments linked to project pricing
9. Helping prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation
We would love to hear from you if…
You’re interested in starting a career within construction or utilities and want to learn how major projects come together behind the scenes. You’ll be naturally inquisitive, enjoy solving problems and feel confident asking questions as you learn.
You’ll need a full UK manual driving licence and to have achieved, or be predicted, 4–5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English.
You’ll also bring enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn. Being organised, numerically confident and able to work well as part of a team will help you succeed, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Most importantly, you’ll have a positive attitude and motivation to build a long-term career.
