Our client is seeking child‑centred, dedicated, and nurturing Senior Residential Childcare Workers to join their homes in Nottingham (NG8). Hours, Pay & Additional Benefits
Hours
* Full‑time: contracted 174 hours per month
* Sleep‑ins: 23:00 – 07:00
* 3‑week rolling rota (7 shifts per cycle)
Pay & Enhancements
* £14.50 – £15.00 per hour
* £71.28 per sleep‑in
* On‑call payments:
* Mon–Thurs: £20 per night
* Fri–Sun: £40 per night
* Additional on‑call payments where required

Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you’ll act as a role model, leading by example and helping to maintain a consistent, nurturing environment for both children and staff.
You will:
-Lead shifts and provide guidance to the care team
-Mentor, support, and motivate colleagues
-Promote a positive, child‑centred, therapeutic culture
-Support the development and review of individual care plans
-Help children regulate emotions, build life skills, and develop confidence
-Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and care practice
-Record key observations, incidents, and progress updates
-Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
-Support behaviour management strategies and therapeutic approaches
-Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and external agencies
-Contribute to continuous improvement across the home
Your experience and insight will help shape both the day‑to‑day running of the home and the long‑term outcomes for the young people being supported.
What the Client Is Looking For
The successful candidate will be compassionate, resilient, and committed to transforming the lives of children and young people.
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
* Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
* Leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong understanding of child development, trauma, and safeguarding
* Ability to de‑escalate situations and manage crises effectively
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
* A full UK driving licence
Desirable:
*NVQ Level 4 or 5 in a relevant field
*Experience supporting young people with emotional or behavioural needs
