Job overview
Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner – Endoscopy
Substantive & Fixed-Term Maternity Cover Opportunities
We have exciting opportunities for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our JAG‑accredited Endoscopy Unit within Princess Anne Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit.
Our service supports diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in partnership with GHNHSFT colleagues, delivering high‑quality care to our local community. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting patients throughout their endoscopy journey—from admission to discharge—alongside assisting with procedures and decontamination.
We are recruiting to both substantive and fixed‑term maternity cover posts and the role may include cross‑site working across the wider endoscopy service, so flexibility to work across Gloucestershire sites when required is essential.
The ideal candidate will have post‑registration experience in endoscopy, theatres, day surgery, or a similar acute clinical setting. Knowledge of JAG standards and JET training would be beneficial, but is not essential, as a comprehensive training package is available for the right candidate.
You’ll join a highly experienced, supportive team with strong clinical leadership, a commitment to innovation, and outstanding patient feedback. We are passionate about delivering excellent care and supporting our staff to grow and develop in their roles.
Main duties of the job

You will support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the unit, ensuring high clinical standards, excellent patient experience and safe use of equipment, including participation in endoscope care and decontamination processes following appropriate training.
This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across Endoscopy, Day Surgery and partner services, contributing to service development, quality improvement and continuous learning.
