Department Overview Definition, development and verification of the security attribute at vehicle, system and component level for all Aston Martin vehicle derivatives Job purpose Define, develop and verify the security attribute at vehicle, system and component level for all Aston Martin vehicle programmes. The security attribute combines subjective and objective Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that influence the customer perception of the brand and market segment vehicle derivatives. Key duties and responsibilities Responsible for the definition, development, delivery and verification of the security attribute at vehicle, system and component level, subjectively and objectively, using virtual and physical prevention and detection events across all Aston Martin vehicle derivatives Establish a direct stakeholder network with key commodity, attribute teams and business functions to enable the definition, delivery and futuring of the attribute (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Legal and Compliance, Product Strategy, Marketing, Quality, Electrical and Software Technology team Commodity Teams, Concept & Package) Establish an indirect stakeholder network for the supporting interfaces and attribute input parameters for the attribute (e.g Service, System supply base, attribute authorities (Association of British Insurers (ABI) etc) Collaborate with Advanced Product Creation (APC) team to scope and define appropriate research and benchmark initiatives to develop and future the security attribute and enable development of appropriate specifications and standards Define and develop the Active Safety attribute strategy (e.g. Driving Safety, Occupant physical wellbeing, Perceptual Safety, Operating Safety) and deployment roadmap that aligns to the regulatory / Industry requirements (e.g. FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, Thatcham) and brand DNA for Aston Martin vehicle and market derivatives Develop a security attribute Bill of Design (BoD) and Bill of Process (BoP) to capture and demonstrate Aston Martin DNA and best practice vs Best in Class (BiC) benchmark examples Track and publish security attribute requirements, standards, specifications, test procedures and best practice guidelines that align to the brand DNA and Aston Martin vehicle and market derivatives Embed security attribute methodology into the wider business (attribute, commodity teams and business functions) to ensure the attribute becomes fully integrated within the wider business Define, develop, document and report attribute status against defined targets for programme gateways, documenting KPI status across commodity teams and supporting functions to Identify, evaluate, and drive solutions through the respective quality PAT meetings and issue management toolset. Review commodity team foundation DFMEA’s and DVP’s to ensure appropriate security attribute requirements are cascaded, tracked, measured and reported Develop a security attribute review process at the appropriate programme build phases to capture status vs target with key stakeholders and internal customers Ensure security attribute issues are tracked and robustly contained and counter-measured using agreed issue tracking and reporting tools throughout the programme gateway process Publish engineering reports to support the above. Support relevant PMT/PAT meetings as required. Experience and Qualifications Essential experience Proven experience in security attribute within an Automotive OEM or adjacent representative sector Proven ability in attribute delivery through product delivery framework process Proven knowledge of safety standards such as FMVSS 114, Thatcham, NVSA, TISAX, NCAP. Experience of high volume / niche vehicle (low volume) programmes Must have excellent analytical skills, with experience in applying statistical analysis techniques Experienced in vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis methods (Vector, CANalayser, CANape, etc) Knowledge of vehicle proving grounds and facilities in Europe Experience with interfacing with direct and indirect customers and translating “voice of the customer” feedback into attribute targets Must be proficient with the use of all common Microsoft Office applications Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred experience Working in cross functional teams, preferably in a Vehicle Integration role. Experience of vehicle package / concept would be desirable, as would be working in a Vehicle Attribute department. A working knowledge of Teamcenter and NX would be desirable A working knowledge of Jira / Confluence An ability to communicate complex ideas quickly and include system / component expertise in decision making Demonstrated ability to make decisions against conflicting requirements to deliver a balanced recommendation for the vehicle programme Essential education/ qualifications Engineering degree or equivalent with a materials or vehicle attribute bias desirable.
