Responsibilities
* Being part of the on call Obsterics and gynaecology on call rota-providing safe care to labouring women on labour ward.
* Gynaecology theatre sessions
* Specialist Gynaecological clinics
* Participation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergency care
* To participate in the department's teaching, audit, and educational activities
Qualifications – Essential
* Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice
* MRCOG or qualification of an equivalent level, Shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or Shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
* Demonstrate an interest in, commitment to and have broad experience in Obs & Gynae
* Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
* Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice
Qualifications – Desirable
* Understanding of core research principles, methodology and ethics
* Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of audit, evidence based practice and clinical quality improvement initiatives
Skills – Essential
* Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors.
* Evidence engagement with appraisal and revalidation
* Able to show situational awareness and application of good decision making
* Ability to effectively teach clinical skills
Knowledge – Essential
* Demonstrate understanding of basic principles of audit, evidence-based practice, and clinical quality improvement initiatives
* Comprehensive knowledge and insight regarding all the domains within the GMC standards of Good Medical Practice
