Test & Evaluation Lab Tech 2 - Test Operations

Overview: This position provides test and evaluation technician support in a lab or aircraft production environment, working alongside production operations personnel.
Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate and maintain instrumentation systems, including installing sensors and associated wiring on aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
2. Handle sensor types such as strain gages, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, etc.
3. Coordinate with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
4. Interpret engineering drawings, perform surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, and handle hazardous materials such as solvents, cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
5. Fabricate wires, perform electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, and sealing.
6. Troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring.
7. Plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
8. Design systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
9. Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.
10. Coordinate test requirements and assist in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
11. Facilitate systems integration, fabrication, and modification; support system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
12. Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
13. Troubleshoot and recommend resolutions for basic laboratory and test-related problems.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or Technical Certificate with 2+ years of relevant technical experience required; AA degree or higher in a related discipline and typically 1+ years of related experience preferred.
* Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or various electrical components required.
* Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, or avionics boxes preferred.
* Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication highly desired.
Other Requirements:
* Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
* Ability to work while standing, kneeling, or using stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or overhead support systems.
* Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard-toe shoes.
