Contract: Local Authority Adult Social Care
Overview
The Learning Disabilities Commissioner will focus on strategic commissioning for residents with learning disabilities. This role requires local authority commissioning experience and experience leading strategic initiatives within adult social services.
Key responsibilities
* Promote independence through commissioning services such as information and advice, prevention, and early support to enable people to remain independent.
* Prevent and reduce health inequalities by working with public health, health, and the voluntary sector.
* Collaborate closely with social care teams, housing, market management and the digital team to deliver joint high‑quality services.
* Partner with providers and local authority partners across South West London to develop joint solutions with health, community and local authority partners.
* Co‑produce and engage services ensuring people’s voices are at the heart of all services designed and commissioned.
Qualifications
* Experienced strategic commissioner with a proven track record in adult social care.
* Demonstrated local authority commissioning experience.
* Strong knowledge of learning disability services and partnership working.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
