IPS Service Manager

The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment team is searching for an inspiring IPS Service Manager to energise and guide a high‑performing team delivering the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programme. You’ll champion a culture of empathy, respect, and excellence, ensuring every participant receives a first‑class experience. With a focus on strong performance management, seamless operations, and unwavering commitment to IPS Fidelity best practice, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving quality, compliance, and meaningful outcomes.

The successful candidate must have experience of leading an IPS team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, support and develop a high‑performing IPS team, ensuring service users receive a high‑quality, effective employment support offer.
2. Recruit, retain and manage staff performance through coaching, reviews, observations and continuous professional development.
3. Drive achievement of all KPIs, quality standards, IPS Fidelity requirements and contractual compliance.
4. Build and maintain strong local partnerships to maximise referrals, enhance provision and promote the service.
5. Oversee day‑to‑day operations of a mobile workforce, ensuring accurate data, audit compliance, and effective use of systems.
6. Monitor service quality, manage feedback and complaints, and apply continuous improvement to enhance delivery.
7. Manage budgets, productivity, social value commitments, and operational reporting to meet financial and commissioner expectations.
8. Ensure clear communication, collaboration and best‑practice sharing across teams, partners, and stakeholders.

About You:

9. Strong understanding of the Greater Manchester health and NHS landscape, alongside employability and skills sectors.
10. Solid grasp of people‑management principles, employment law and effective leadership practice.
11. Confident interpreting MI, financial information and labour‑market intelligence to inform decisions.
12. Knowledgeable about relevant local and national policy influencing service delivery.
13. Results‑driven with high levels of initiative, ownership and personal drive.
14. Resilient and adaptable under pressure, maintaining focus and performance.
15. Effective communicator and networker who builds strong relationships internally and externally.
16. Collaborative team player with the confidence to lead, motivate and support others.

Skills Required:

17. Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff to achieve high fidelity scores and job start conversion.
18. Confident presenting to partners, stakeholders and external audiences.
19. Strong written communication skills, including producing clear, high‑quality reports.
20. Competent and fluent user of ICT systems and digital tools.
21. Experienced people manager with a track record of delivering measurable results in welfare‑to‑work or health settings.
22. Demonstrates consistent achievement of performance outcomes and service targets.
