GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors (CS) for immediate daily supply and long-term positions across secondary schools in Sunderland. About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work to classes in the absence of the regular teacher. While no formal teaching qualification is required, you will be expected to manage classroom behaviour and ensure a productive learning environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Supervising lessons and maintaining discipline within the classroom.
* Distributing and explaining pre-set work to students.
* Ensuring pupils remain on task and work is completed effectively.
* Managing student behaviour in line with school policy.
* Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons.
* Supporting pupils with general queries and ensuring safeguarding protocols are followed.
* Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people in an educational setting.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead confidently.
* A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
* A flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
