Job Description
We are seeking a candidate for an Analyst/Associate role within the Exposure, Leverage and Liquidity Management (ELLM) & Trading groups, a part of the Total Fund Management (TFM) department based in London, England. In collaboration with other TFM groups and various departments within the fund, the ELLM group is tasked with maintaining Total Fund exposures via the management of the Balancing Portfolios. Additionally, the group is responsible for monitoring and managing the Fund's liquidity and leverage positions, and ensuring total Fund positioning aligns with management and board limits. This role also entails working as a multi-asset trader executing as part of the Trading Group within TFM for the various strategies across the fund. The successful candidate will collaborate with the rest of the ELLM &Trading team to meet the groups’ broader objectives.
The key responsibilities of this role will include, but will not be limited to:
8. Assisting in implementing the fund’s leverage goals via secured borrowings such as Equity Swaps, SBL, Cash Prime, and Repo.
9. Fulfilling short locates for our global equity programs through securities lending and synthetic/ cash prime brokerage.
10. Working with the Trading team to deliver world-class execution using trading algorithms and bespoke transactions across various assets including Equities, Fixed Income and Currencies.
11. Performing daily portfolio management activities including re-rates, dividend monitoring, recalls, and corporate action elections.
12. Managing day-to-day rebalancing and life cycle of Equity Total Return Swaps.
13. Trading equity index replication products globally.
14. Managing trade orders in a risk-controlled manner with high sensitivity to fiduciary responsibilities.
15. Developing and maintaining external relationships as required across asset classes and regions.
16. Reconcile P&L with investment operations across various portfolios and products.
17. Support creation of weekly/monthly reports for internal stakeholders.
18. Support investment teams in terms of information flow, trade ideas and data requests.
19. Working on Projects analyzing and making recommendations on topics such as portfolio management, trade execution, market structure and trade opportunities across a global portfolio.
Qualifications
20. Requisite work experience, preferably in capital markets or asset management.
21. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities simultaneously.
22. Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a dynamic fast-paced team environment - actively participates in team meetings, cooperates, and shares information to contribute to the team's effectiveness.
23. Ability, willingness, and enthusiasm to trade global markets – including providing coverage solutions for Asian time zones from London.
24. Experience managing client and/or portfolio manager relationships is a strong asset.
25. The team works in a dynamic interactive environment which requires the candidate to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
26. Coding proficiency in Python/VBA and experience with SQL is an asset.
27. An undergraduate/advanced degree in Finance or related areas.
28. CFA or other relevant professional designation is an asset.
