The role
The role is primarily focused on the provision of high-quality personal tax compliance but also includes ad hoc advice related to the annual compliance cycle.
Our clients include individuals, trusts, partnerships, and LLPs across various sectors, particularly landed estates and rural businesses.
As a training officer, there is an expectation that the candidate will support the development of junior staff through on-the-job training and supervise trainees.
Opportunities exist to engage in firm-wide advisory work, committees, and presentations, should the individual wish to do so.
The Office
These are exciting times for the local office, with recent expansion from Harrogate to a new, purpose-built office in Leeds City Centre as of September 2024.
You
Key characteristics and skills required include:
1. A positive and enthusiastic attitude
2. A high level of motivation, ability, and commitment
3. Management experience, as the candidate will manage their own portfolio and review the work of junior staff
4. Experience in delivering and managing personal tax compliance services, with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
5. Experience in providing tax advice, including inheritance, capital gains tax planning, and trust planning; a broad base of knowledge is necessary
6. Experience with land-based issues is significant
7. Background in professional services
8. Confident communication skills with colleagues, partners, and clients
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
10. High attention to detail and timeliness
11. Excellent IT skills
