Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. You can make a difference.
We need someone adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams such as Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, along with support for other workstreams as needed.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving reforms in waste management to improve how waste is managed in England, including shaping digital systems for waste management or policy development.
Our team is dispersed and collaborates with various technical and project teams nationwide. We utilize smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads on reforming Waste Regulations to fulfill the government’s ambitions to conserve resources and minimize waste. Additional Information
You will have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan, with support to find a role suited to your needs. The role is based in an EA office with flexible/hybrid working arrangements. Some travel and overnight stays may be necessary.
