Job Description:
Our client, a leading brand in womenswear, is seeking a dynamic Head of Garment Tech to join the team and lead the technical design process for the product range. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Note: This role will require relocation to Amsterdam.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of garment technologists and technical designers to deliver high-quality, well-constructed garments.
* Oversee the technical design process from concept to production, ensuring accurate translation of designs into finished products.
* Manage fit testing, fabric selection, garment construction, and production quality control to meet product specifications.
* Collaborate with design, production, and merchandising teams to ensure seamless product development and timely delivery.
* Drive innovation in garment technology, staying updated with industry trends, technical advancements, and best practices.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production to minimize delays or disruptions.
* Ensure garments meet high standards of quality, fit, and functionality while maintaining brand integrity.
* Align technical strategies with overall business goals by working closely with senior leadership.
Key Requirements:
* Extensive experience in garment technology, including pattern-making, fabric selection, construction, and quality control.
* Proven leadership in managing technical teams in a fast-paced fashion or apparel environment.
* Strong understanding of garment fit, construction methods, and production techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving skills for addressing complex technical challenges.
* Exceptional communication and leadership skills for cross-department collaboration.
* Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
* A passion for fashion and a commitment to high-quality, innovative products.
* A degree or equivalent in fashion technology, garment design, or related field is preferred.
