Junior Field Service Engineer

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

This profile corresponds to an individual with a solid academic background in mechatronics, technology, and electrics, preferably with an apprenticeship in the industrial sector. It requires short-term experience (1-2 years) working across various industrial sectors, preferably Robotics and/or CNC automation. Availability to travel extensively, including outside the UK, for training is essential.
Some highly considered qualifications include: NVQ in technological subjects, HNC.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns, demonstrating excellent customer-facing skills while remaining calm and resolving challenges amicably in line with company policy.
2. Advising the help desk on breakdown issues and liaising with the business to support all products.
3. Providing solutions through ownership, including site visits across the country at short notice.
4. Understanding and demonstrating the functionality of CNC equipment.
5. Providing technical and sales support, commissioning, training, and installation.
6. Handling electrical and mechanical breakdowns, supporting change through knowledge, and documenting procedures as needed.
7. Understanding engineering activities, including service work, preventative maintenance, and site surveys.
8. Supporting customers and the helpdesk on technical issues, understanding mechanical and electrical drawings, troubleshooting, and customer training.
9. Knowledge of CAD/CAM, PLC, and CNC systems.
10. Attending training courses and ensuring high standards of work within deadlines.
11. Advising on installation planning, troubleshooting, and taking ownership of on-site work.
12. Preparing and submitting paperwork such as timesheets and expenses.
