* Systems Engineer contract, up to £650/day (inside IR35)
* South West based, circa 2 days onsite per week

ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a leading organisation within the national security and defence sector, delivering advanced technology solutions across complex, mission‑critical environments. They specialise in communications, systems integration and open architecture solutions that support evolving defence capability. Due to increased demand across a key programme, they are looking to engage an experienced Systems Engineer (Defence Communications / C2).

THE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:
As a Systems Engineer, you will support the analysis and understanding of complex communications systems within a broader system‑of‑systems environment. You will contribute to technology‑focused insights, supporting the evolution of modular and open architecture solutions across defence programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting analysis of tactical communications and C2 systems
* Producing technical reports and structured technology insights
* Contributing to system‑level understanding and capability assessment
* Supporting stakeholder engagement across technical and operational teams
SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Experience as a Systems Engineer within defence or national security environments
* Strong understanding of communications, C2, CIS or tactical networked systems
* Experience working across complex system‑of‑systems environments
* Ability to produce technical documentation, reports or analysis
* Active SC or DV clearance
