Overview
As a stores laboratory support worker in Blood Sciences, the post holder works under supervision of qualified scientists for delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose, 24/7 medical laboratory service analysing and reporting on blood, urine, faeces and other body materials to achieve objectives of efficient and effective patient care and resource management within the hospital.
Main duties of the job
As part of our ongoing service, the Blood Sciences Department in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd is looking to appoint a full-time Band 3 Medical Laboratory Stores Assistant. This is a key role in the organisation, complementing the expertise of other Scientists and Science Assistants and joining a fast-paced laboratory diagnostics service. The successful candidate will need a basic knowledge of laboratory services and demonstrate a capacity to learn and develop with a drive to deliver an excellent service for the benefit of the community we serve; committed to ensuring that our patients are at the heart of everything we do. You will work as part of a close-knit, sociable team with strong team-working skills, communicating well, supporting colleagues, delivering a quality service and treating others with respect and dignity. You will have peer support and opportunities to develop your skills with training provided. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
