About the Role
We are seeking an ICAEW qualified Head of Commercial & Operations to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and commercial strategy of the business. This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating at both strategic and operational levels.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and Client Services Director on client performance & operations, commercial proposals & contracts, and financial operations & planning.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Operations
* Project management and commercial decision-making, including both internal and client operations.
* Assisting on the commercial and operational aspects of contracts, proposals, and client pitches.
* Reviewing, structuring, and negotiating commercial terms in customer and supplier contracts.
* Providing input into client pricing strategies and partner deal structures.
* Supporting the development and implementation of scalable business processes as the company grows
Finance Operations
* Overseeing day-to-day finance operations including reviewing:
o The monthly management accounts & cashflow forecasts.
o Billing, payroll, and supplier payments.
o Annual budgeting and reforecasting processes.
* Ensuring strong financial controls and accurate financial data is produced across the business.
* Working closely with the CEO and other board members on acquisition strategies, including the creation of integrated financial models for both internal growth plans and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
* ICAEW qualified (ACA), with 1-year PQE.
* Background in commercial finance, contracts, and operations.
* Strong management accounting experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow.
* Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator - able to work directly with senior leadership.
* Highly organised, hands-on, and comfortable in a small but growing environment.
