About the role
We're looking for an experienced Solutions Analyst to join our IT team and play a key role in shaping, delivering and improving business-critical applications across Balfour Beatty.
In this role, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, user communities and technical teams to understand business needs and translate them into high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions. You'll oversee solution delivery across the full implementation lifecycle, ensuring outcomes meet both business expectations and operational standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, influencing solution design and supporting successful delivery in a complex enterprise environment.
What you'll be doing
* Engaging with business and user communities to understand needs, outcomes and priorities, and advising on the best solution options available.
* Investigating, analysing and documenting business requirements and translating them into clear, detailed functional specifications.
* Ensuring requirements and design documentation meet agreed quality standards.
* Collaborating with Application Architects to help shape and define end-to-end solutions.
* Overseeing solution delivery through build, test and transition phases in line with agreed methodologies, governance and processes.
* Supporting implementation of new and changed solutions to ensure they meet functional and operational expectations.
* Proactively identifying risks, managing escalations and supporting effective mitigation.
* Working closely with internal teams including PMO, Application Architects and Application Support, as well as external IT partners and suppliers.
Who we're looking for
Essential experience and skills:
* Strong experience working with Oracle Applications, with a solid understanding of how Oracle modules support business processes.
* Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and functional specifications.
* Experience working within structured project delivery environments and ITIL (v3 Foundation certification preferred).
* Experience working with third-party delivery partners and managing outsourced delivery models.
* Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working directly with business users and senior stakeholders.
* Ability to manage escalations and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong collaboration skills and experience working effectively across IT and business teams.
