We are looking for an innovative problem solver - if you enjoy tackling complex problems and creating innovative solutions – then our operational research group (ORG) could be the place for you to develop your career.
The purpose of the operational research group is to problem solve. We have a passion for developing solutions that will help to provide better healthcare delivery and relieve pressure on healthcare systems.
The ORG have three objectives, the role will contribute to all them:
* To deliver complex solutions to client challenges, unbound by conventional industry approaches.
* To develop and implement solutions to optimise internal workflows and increase business efficiency.
* To push boundaries and provoke new ways of thinking. Providing technical leadership to support HEOR’s thought leadership and commercial initiatives.
What you could be doing:
* Working with clients to help them describe the value of their technologies
* Analyse complex and varied data types
* Translating project objectives into mathematical and/or analytic models
* Collaborating with other HEOR colleagues to identify and define and deliver solutions to client problems
* Develop backend (e.g. R/Python) and frontend (e.g. R Shiny) software components to automate processes
* Employ optimisation and data-visualisation techniques to identify and communicate optimal solutions
* Contributing to business development and new project proposal development
* Provoke the industry to think differently by contributing to and delivering thought leadership projects
* Developing and implementing solutions to optimise internal processes and productivity
* Develop internal data analytics and collaborating with management to support data-driven decision making
* Developing training materials and technical resources for HEOR teams
* Preparing and delivering findings (client and internal) to a range of audiences with varying technical skills
* Collaborate with technology leads within HEOR to ensure that technology in place to support best practice working
Requirements
About you:
* PhD in numerical fields e.g. mathematics, physics, operational research, engineering or BSc/MSC degree with relevant experience
* Solution orientated problem solver
* Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data
* Experience in working with differential equations, numerical modelling
* Experience working with statistical programming languages (R/Python/Matlab)
* Experience developing software with git
* Experience in algorithm development and optimisation
* Experience with working independently and collaborating with multiple stakeholder types
Set yourself apart:
* Knowledge of common health economics modelling methodologies
* Experience with creation of data visualisation tools
* Experience developing Shiny apps or similar
* Knowledge / experience of working with health related data
* Experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
