Are you looking for a new challenge? Barnardo's has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Young Carers Practitioner to join our Kirklees Young Carers (KYC) service.

OurKYCservicehas been supporting young carers and their families across Kirklees since 2016. The service is well established and highly regarded, delivering assessed support through awhole-family,outcomes basedapproach.

The role requires excellent case management skills,accurateandtimelyrecordkeeping, and adherence toestablishedcasework processes and timescales. You will also contribute to group work delivery, coordinate activities, and build andmaintaineffective professional relationships across Children's and Adults' Services and partner agencies.

Working pattern:4 days per week,flexiblebetween Monday Friday(9am 5pmwith the occasional evening session)

Location: Whilstyou'llbe based atBrian Jackson House, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP,a key part of the roleincludestravel across the Kirklees localityforcommunity,schooland home visits(car driver is an essentialrequirement)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our small, supportive team and undertake all aspects of the Young Carer Practitioner role. This includes:

* Assessing the needs of young carers and their families
* Planning and delivering tailored 1:1 support, ensuring young carers are fully involved indecision making
* Contributing to Early Help and statutory multiagency support plans
* Working in partnership with a range of external agencies using awhole familyapproach
* Cofacilitating targeted group sessions focused on building resilience and emotional wellbeing
* Supporting holiday activities, events and service initiatives asrequired

About You

In your application, please provide evidence of the following:

* Experience of working with children, youngpeopleand families
* Practical experience in safeguarding children and young people
* Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by young carers
* Experience or knowledge of managing caseloads and working within multiagency frameworks
* Experience or understanding of cofacilitating group work
