Customer Delivery Driver – Broughton Chester Extra
Start your day driving Tesco’s delivery vans around the Broughton Chester area, delivering groceries and other items to customers’ homes. This role goes beyond driving – it’s about exceptional customer service and safety.
Pay: Starting at £13.35 per hour, rising to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Depending on location, additional payments may apply.
Hours & Flexibility: We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with the option to work fewer hours (minimum 12). Availability is required across the week as per our rotating shift schedule, with up to three weeks’ notice of exact shift times.
Responsibilities
* Keep the van and trays clean and tidy.
* Ensure the back yard is tidy, clear of rubbish and pick up litter as it appears.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required and check the van for roadworthiness.
* Communicate with customers about any order changes, short‑code items, substitutions and offer refunds if they are unhappy.
* Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain to customers that they will not be charged for substitutions.
* Deliver within the customer’s scheduled time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving if early.
* Call the store or centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
Qualifications & Requirements

* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within your store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing work and home life.
* Share ideas with your manager and other colleagues on how we can improve our store for customers.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
