Southend Care Ltd is an ambitious and growing organisation providing a wide range of services across different client groups. As we move into a new phase of growth, developing a 3-year business plan and expanding our service offering, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Operations to join our senior management team.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, and working closely with the Director of Corporate Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation. As part of a small but dynamic management team, you will have the opportunity to influence strategy, lead change, and ensure operational excellence across a broad range of service models.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Managing Director to develop and implement the Business Plan, translating this into clear operational plans for service delivery.
* Drive excellence in service delivery and operational performance. Lead on operational change and transformation programmes.
* Manage and develop a team of service managers, ensuring strong leadership, accountability, and professional growth.
* Lead the operational mobilisation, go-live, and steady-state phases of new services.
* Build and maintain productive relationships with commissioners and stakeholders.
* Establish a values-led, solution-focused culture across all services.
* Ensure successful financial performance of services in line with agreed targets.
* Contribute to wider corporate development including workforce, finance, and governance, supporting the Board of Directors.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Professional qualification in health or social care, or a related field, alongside evidence of management development.
* Experience in a senior management position at Director or Head of Service level, within commercial, third sector, health, or local authority settings.
* Detailed knowledge of one or more of the client groups we support.
* Proven track record of leading change, service development, and organisational growth.
* Strong stakeholder management and commercial acumen.
